I joined Digital Machine as part of a small, autonomous team working inside a large React application backed by a collection of Python microservices. My role was to spot opportunities for business and workflow automation, then design, build, test, and deploy the microservices to make them happen. The team operates independently day to day, syncing once a week to share progress and bounce around new ideas.

Before Digital Machine, I worked in sales for Rocket.ca, an online fireworks retailer serving customers across Canada. Most of the job happened over email and phone rather than in person, managing several conversations with different clients at once and helping them find the right products for their event. I also put together custom displays and built relationships with recurring customers, each with their own specific needs.
